Experience:
In December of 1993, I was appointed to be the District Court Trustee by the Chief Judge of the 12th Judicial District and served in that capacity until December of 2002. As the first Trustee for the Judicial District, the Chief Judge relied on my knowledge of the law, my judgment and common sense in the application of the law, and my strong work ethic. The Trustee's office managed over 1400 cases in six counties and collected child support of over $3,600,000 annually. Since leaving the Trustee's office, I resumed the general practice of law, concentrating in criminal law and family law. My practice is very active in six counties. I have the experience to be your County Attorney.
Respect:
Over the last 24 years, I have earned the respect of my fellow attorneys, Judges, Court personnel and clients. Such respect is gained by the honest common sense effort in dealing with cases and people involved in the Court system. I have the common sense to be your County Attorney
Issues:
Now, more than ever, Mitchell County needs a common sense, experienced County Attorney with the judgment and honesty to make good decisions. Over the next few weeks, I will be providing you with my response to the critical issues facing law enforcement, the Court and the Mitchell County community. These issues include the efficient use of the resources of the Court and the County; knowledge and understanding of the law; honesty and integrity in office; fair, just and impartial administration of the office; and respect to victims of crimes. You may have other issues and concerns and I invite you to share them with me.
The County Attorney's office is not an office to risk to on the job training. The caliber of defense counsel in this area is high. The caliber of the County Attorney must be higher. I have the common sense experience and judgment to be your County Attorney.
